Celebrating 10 years of affiliation with Foundation Quarter Horse Registry, the FQHR- Michigan Affiliate (a non-profit 501©5 organization) is gearing up for another great year promoting “the greatest cowhorse to ever look through a bridle” the American Quarter Horse. The FQHR promotes Foundation bred Quarter Horses exhibiting in “contest friendly” events and classes that preserve and perpetuate the breed.  As we kick off our 2008 sponsorship campaign we continue to look for individuals and businesses that not only understand exhibition of Foundation bred horses, but support wholesome family recreation. The FQHR-MI Affiliate show season starts in May and concludes in September, with our banquet in the fall after the National Round up and Review. With an annual average membership of 150 (Michigan affiliate) we average 300 entries at our two-day shows. 2008 looks to be another exciting year!

Our shows draw participants from around the entire state of Michigan, as well as Indiana, Ohio, and Canada. Due to the growth of the Michigan Affiliate, the Isabella County Fairgrounds, (centrally located in the state, in Mt. Pleasant) will host all five 2008 shows.  The Annual Spring Clinic will be in Swartz Creek and our Annual Youth Show will take place in Vicksburg. Our shows are like no other…offering a full weekend of horsemanship, sportsmanship, cowboy and family fun, for men, women and children of all ages.
