Michigan FQHR Breeders Classic

BreedersClassicSaddleCUA VItal Part Of Our Breed Organization
The Foundation Quarter Horse Registry is an organization for and about breeding American Quarter Horses who carry the foundation bloodlines of the breed. As you acquaint yourself with FQHR (www.fqhr.net) you will notice the following recurring and dominate affirmations:
- “greatest cowhorse to ever look through a bridle”
- “preserve, protect and perpetuate the breed”
- “Bloodlines”

The traits, characteristics and bloodlines of a foundation quarter horse are not only a vital part of our organization but the base and roots of FQHR. If you are considering becoming more involved with Foundation bred Quarter Horses, this is a good opportunity for you.

The Making of a Champion
The Breeders Classic was begun to give the breeder a venue to exhibit and be rewarded for their efforts in perpetuating foundation bred horses. Whether you’re a stallion owner, mare owner or looking to purchase a foal; we offer two options of entry.

1.) Stallion Service Sale: (http://www.michigan-fqhr.com/stallion-services)
A stallion owner donates a breeding. A mare owner can purchase this donated breeding at a 50% rate (deadline applicable) and the resulting (foundation eligible) foal is automatically entered in the four year futurity known as the Breeders Classic. The stallion owner receives a free membership to the Michigan Affiliate, advertising, and the privilege of one entry of his choice in the Breeders Classic. The SSS get are eligible for all four years of the Breeder’s Classic.

2.) Stallion Service Sale OPTION 2:
The stallion owner can pay an annual nomination fee and any of that stallion’s get (which must be foundation eligible) can be entered into the Breeders Classic Futurity that year. The annual stallion fee must be paid for every year’s foal crop. Usually the stallion owner pays the nomination fee but anyone can pay it. The owner of the foal also has to pay an annual entry fee to keep the foal eligible to be shown.

TerryRibbonsWhichever option you choose, the get are shown as weanlings, yearlings, two year olds and three year olds. As weanlings, yearlings and two year olds they are shown in Breeders Classic conformation classes. As three year olds they are shown in Breeders Classic: Conformation, Handy Ranch Horse, Ranch Pleasure and a cow class.

The placing points from each year are carried over and the winner is determined by the horse with the highest total accumulation of points from these four years of the Breeders Classic. The Breeders Classic Futurity show is in September and the winner is awarded a trophy saddle.

Whether you own the stallion, the mare, both, or simply buy a foundation eligible foal…..we have an option for you. Ask past winners about the rewards of this four or five year commitment that starts with the Stallion Service Sale or buying into Option 2.

The Breeders Classic is where it ALL begins...
